The victims' conditions ranged from serious to critical.

Four people were injured in a hit-and-run incident on Tuesday evening as they were making their way to the White Sox game at Guaranteed Rate Field. According to Chicago Police Deputy Chief Fred Melean, the car was traveling east down 35th Street when it crashed into the four fans who were crossing 35th Street at Shields Avenue. The victims included two women and two men ranging from ages 24 to 64.

Pedestrians scrambled moments after the car plowed through a crowd making their way inside the ballpark. One victim was knocked to the ground, while another victim flipped and landed in the sunroof of the car that had hit them all before being partially dragged away by it.

The suspects fled from scene but were apprehended soon afterward when their vehicle crashed into a median wall on Dan Ryan Expressway with help from Illinois State Police and Chicago Police SWAT team. All four suspects, aged between 20-25 years old, have been hospitalized along with victims whose conditions range from serious to critical.

Police have not yet determined why the car was speeding down 35th Street or if there was any motive behind this attack.

The White Sox released a statement expressing condolences for those affected by this tragedy. They also thanked first responders including police departments across multiple jurisdictions for their swift response time during such an unexpected event.

As of now charges against these suspects are still pending while Major Accident Investigation Unit continues its investigation late Tuesday night.
