One person injured
One person was injured after a home heating oil truck overturned in Jefferson. The incident occurred on Monday, at approximately 4:10 a.m. The large vehicle crashed in the area of Owls Head Highway, trapping the driver inside.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene and were able to extricate the driver from the wreckage. He was then transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
During the accident, one tank from the trailer burst open while two others began leaking fuel. Authorities have stated that poor road conditions played a role in causing the crash.
As a result of this incident, the southbound lane of Route 115 had to be closed for several hours as crews worked to clean up and remove debris from the scene. However, it has since been reopened to traffic.
