An illegally parked truck caused a collision with a bus on the Upper East Side, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). The incident occurred at the intersection of East 85th Street and Lexington Avenue on Thursday morning.
The MTA reported that the truck was allegedly parked in the bus stop, obstructing the path of the bus. As a result, when the bus driver stopped to pick up passengers away from the curb, another truck crashed into it.
Fortunately, only two passengers on board sustained minor injuries. No one in either vehicle was seriously hurt during this unfortunate accident.
Authorities are reminding drivers to adhere to parking regulations and avoid blocking designated areas for buses and other vehicles. Illegally parked vehicles can cause significant disruptions and potentially dangerous situations for both motorists and pedestrians.
