Police Investigate Possible Intoxicated Driving in Fatal Houston Crash

The Houston Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed two adults and injured a child. The accident occurred at around 6 p.m. in the Denver Harbor area of Houston, Texas.

According to HPD Assistant Chief Chandra Hatcher, a man driving a white SUV hit a power pole on Waxahachie before colliding with a black four-door vehicle going northbound on Boyles Street. Both vehicles came to rest close by where the impact occurred.

A man and woman riding in the black vehicle died at the scene while a boy who was also in the car was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure and is now stable.

Officers observed signs of intoxication on the SUV driver who complained of physical pain but had no visible injuries. He too was sent to hospital for treatment.

The HPD Vehicular Crimes Unit has been called out to investigate whether intoxicated driving played any role in this fatal incident.

Homes nearby were also impacted by the crash which caused power outages when the SUV hit the pole. It remains unclear when power will be restored.
