Joyride in Stolen Ambulance Ends with Crash in Tulsa Hospital Parking Garage

The Tulsa Police Department is currently investigating an unusual incident that occurred at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to reports, a joyride in an ambulance took a dangerous turn when it ended with a crash in the hospital's parking garage.

Authorities received a call about an Auto Theft in Progress at around 4:20 a.m. on Thursday. Witnesses claim that a patient fled from the emergency room and stole an Oologah-Talala EMS ambulance. The suspect then proceeded to drive through the parking garage with lights flashing and sirens blaring.

During this reckless joyride, the stolen ambulance collided with several low-hanging signs within the parking area as well as a pipe hanging from the ceiling of the garage itself, causing significant damage.

Tulsa PD provided further details stating, "During his joyride, the suspect collided with a couple of low-hanging signs in the parking area and a pipe handing from the ceiling of the garage."

Fortunately, St. John's Security was able to apprehend and take custody of the suspect without any further incidents or injuries reported. However, due to his need for medical care, he was readmitted to St. John Medical Center for treatment related to his initial reason for visiting.

As this investigation is still ongoing, it remains unclear whether criminal charges will be filed against the individual responsible for stealing and crashing the ambulance outside of St. John Medical Center's emergency room.
