Juvenile male dead, Florida man injured
Massachusetts State Police reported that a fatal car crash occurred on Tuesday, June 20th at around 7:19 a.m. The incident happened at mile 51 on Route 128 North in Manchester-by-the-Sea. According to the report, a 26-year-old man from Florida was seriously injured and transported via medical helicopter to a Boston hospital. Tragically, officers found an unidentified juvenile male dead inside the vehicle.
The initial investigation suggests that the car, identified as a 2009 Honda Civic, went off the road and into the woods for unknown reasons. Authorities have yet to determine who was driving the vehicle during this time.
Due to the severity of injuries sustained by one of those involved in the accident, both northbound and southbound lanes were closed temporarily so that emergency services could land their helicopter safely.
The scene was cleared just before nine o'clock in the morning; however, investigations continued as authorities tried to piece together what caused this tragic event.
