A Lexington teenager lost her life in a car accident that occurred on Athens Boonesboro Road, near Halls on the River in Clark County. The coroner's office identified the victim as 17-year-old Kaylee Goodman, who was driving when her vehicle went off the road and hit a tree. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Goodman was a senior at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, where she was known for her kindness and ability to connect with others.

The school is providing mental health resources for grief support. Parents are urged to look for changes in the behavior of their child, that may signal additional grief support is needed.
