Jones County deputies responded to a log truck crash on Monday, July 3. The log truck lost control, flipped onto its side and lost its load of logs. The truck blocked the roadway and took down power lines.
Jones County deputies in Mississippi were called to the scene of a log truck crash on Monday, July 3. The incident occurred on Riley Johnson Road in the Johnson community.
According to reports from the deputies, the log truck lost control and flipped onto its side, causing it to lose its load of logs. The overturned truck blocked the roadway and also brought down power lines.
Fortunately, the driver of the log truck was able to free themselves from the wreckage and received treatment at the scene by medics. However, due to ongoing vehicle and log recovery operations as well as efforts to restore electrical power, Riley Johnson Road at #435 has been closed until further notice.
Residents are advised to find alternative routes while authorities work diligently to clear up debris and restore normalcy in that area.
