Patrick Schlereth Arrested After Auto Accident in Hicksville

According to Nassau County Police, an auto accident occurred in the area of 7 Newbridge Road in Hicksville on Tuesday, April 18, around 2:30 p.m. Patrick Schlereth, a resident of East Meadow, lost control of his 2022 Subaru Outback and hit two parked cars, causing his vehicle to overturn. Schlereth was arrested without incident after an investigation was conducted. While in police custody, he was found to be in possession of a clear glass vile containing a burnt substance believed to be crack cocaine. Schlereth was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of his injuries and is currently in stable condition. No other injuries were reported. Schlereth was charged with DWAI drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation, and unlicensed operation of a vehicle. He will be arraigned on Friday, April 19, in Hempstead.
