Man Arrested After Crashing Pickup Truck into San Antonio Home

The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DWI and leaving the scene of an accident. Gas was shut off by CPS Energy.
A man in his 30s was arrested on Tuesday night after crashing his pickup truck into a home and fleeing the scene, according to San Antonio police. The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. on NW 26th Street near West Laurel Street in San Antonio's West Side.
According to authorities, the man was driving along NW 26th Street when he lost control of his pickup truck and collided with the corner of a house, causing damage to the gas line. After the crash, the driver fled from the scene but was later found in a nearby H-E-B parking lot by police.
The suspect has been taken into custody under suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI) and leaving the scene of an accident. However, his identity has not yet been disclosed by law enforcement officials.
CPS Energy promptly responded to shut off the gas at the affected residence upon arrival. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among those inside the home at the time of impact.
Multiple emergency services were involved in responding to this incident including members from both San Antonio Police Department and Fire Department as well as EMS personnel.
The investigation into this crash is still ongoing as stated by local authorities.
