Heinrichs was charged with first-degree manslaughter, leaving the scene of a collision involving death and destroying evidence.

A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred last month on Highway 385 in Cimarron County, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol announced that Johan Heinrichs was taken into custody by troopers in Dalhart, Texas on May 23rd.

The victim of the accident was identified as Michael McCauley who was driving a tractor-trailer when his front tire was compromised causing him to go off the road and overturn. He died at the scene of the crash. Investigators determined that a tractor-trailing hauling a John Deer swather truck caused damage to McCauley's tire leading to the accident.

Heinrichs, who was driving the tractor-trailer involved in the incident, did not stop at the scene according to OHP reports. Probable cause affidavits indicate that he admitted side-swiping McCauley's truck knowing it would result in an accident.

As per official statements from OHP, Heinrichs has been charged with first-degree manslaughter for leaving the scene of an accident involving death and destroying evidence.

This is still an ongoing investigation and more details will be released soon.
