A man is facing charges after a three-car crash left four adults and one toddler injured in Knox County, Tennessee on Wednesday. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Alpesh Patel will be charged with due care and failure to yield.

The preliminary report states that Patel was driving a 2022 Volkswagen when he attempted to turn left onto westbound West Emory Road from Harrell Road. His vehicle collided with a 2006 Ford, causing it to spin into the eastbound lanes of West Emory Road where it was hit by a 2011 Kia on its passenger side.

The impact caused the Ford to overturn and roll multiple times before catching fire while the Kia also rolled into a ditch but remained upright. Patel's vehicle went into another ditch between Harrell Road and West Emory Road.

Emergency services were called immediately, and some of the victims were taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center while one driver went with their family to Fort Sanders Hospital. Fortunately, all injuries are non-life-threatening according to THP.
