Mohammed Hussein died from blunt force injuries related to the crash, and three others were hospitalized.

A man has pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the death of 17-year-old Mohammed Hussein, who died following a four-car accident at the intersection of Shepherdsville and Newburg roads late Saturday night. Ernesto Ocampo's cash bond was set at $100,000 on Monday, according to court records. Ocampo was arrested on multiple charges including murder, operating a motor vehicle under the influence and five counts of wanton endangerment, according to an arrest citation.

Hussein was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he later died from blunt force injuries related to the crash, officials said. Three others were hospitalized after the crash, which occurred just before midnight. The drivers of a Buick, Toyota and Pontiac as well as passengers in the Pontiac were taken to the hospital after Ocampo, driving a Mazda, allegedly crashed into the back of the Toyota while it was waiting at a red light, shoving it into a Pontiac that was then shoved into a Buick, according to the arrest citation. Hussein was in the backseat of the Toyota.

Police say Ocampo did not have a driver's license and "was observed by officers on scene and at the hospital to smell strongly of the odor of an alcoholic beverage." According to the citation, toxicology reports from the university hospital indicate a blood alcohol level of .338.

The incident has left the community in shock and mourning. "It's just a tragedy," said one resident. "My heart goes out to the family of the victim."

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
