A man is in critical condition after being struck by a city garbage truck in Rochester, New York on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at the intersection of St. Paul Street and Bausch Street around 11:17 a.m., according to the Rochester Police Department.
The victim, identified as a 59-year-old man, was immediately transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for life-threatening injuries. The severity of his condition has placed him in critical condition.
As a result of the accident, Bausch and Upper Falls over the river have been closed off to traffic. Authorities are working diligently to investigate the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
Fortunately, the driver of the garbage truck involved in the incident is cooperating fully with law enforcement officials.
