Accidental death
A tragic incident occurred in Sayler Park, resulting in the death of a man who was working on utility lines. The accident took place around 10 a.m. on Friday, on Parkland Avenue when an electrical incident occurred. The victim has been identified as Charles Stewart, 29.
Officials have confirmed that Stewart succumbed to his injuries. Cincinnati police are treating the incident as an accidental death and are currently investigating the matter.
The incident caused a power outage in the area, affecting over 300 customers from Sayler Avenue to Rockaway Avenue, according to Duke Energy's website. Power restoration is expected by 1:30 p.m.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a worker being shocked while working on a utility pole. Stewart was employed by the Bowlin Group, which carries out contract work for Duke Energy. A spokesperson for the Bowlin Group expressed their condolences and stated that they are conducting their own investigation into what happened.
Duke Energy also released a statement expressing sadness over the tragedy and offering thoughts and prayers to Stewart's family. They emphasized that this matter remains under investigation.
