27-Year-Old Kolin J. McKain Dies in Single-Car Accident in Rochester

Driver passed away from injuries
The Orleans County Sherriff’s Office has confirmed that a man has tragically lost his life following a single-car accident in the Town of Murray.
According to authorities, officers were called to State Route 104 at approximately 2 a.m. on Tuesday after receiving reports of an incident. Upon arrival, they discovered that a vehicle traveling eastbound had veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.
Fortunately, a nearby property owner heard the crash and noticed that the car had caught fire. Acting swiftly, he managed to extract the driver from the vehicle and extinguish the flames before emergency services arrived at the scene.
The driver has been identified as 27-year-old Kolin J. McKain, an Albion resident. He was immediately transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment but sadly succumbed to his injuries later on.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into this tragic incident. While it is still ongoing, preliminary findings suggest that speed may have played a role in causing this fatal accident.
The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit will continue their efforts to determine all factors contributing to this devastating event.
