Jason Andrew Norfleet Found Dead in Crashed Truck in Nashville

The Metro Nashville Police Department has confirmed that the man found dead inside a crashed truck on East Thompson Lane died as a result of a collision and not due to foul play. The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Jason Andrew Norfleet.
According to authorities, Norfleet was driving his 1995 GMC pickup truck at high speed along Thompson Lane around 1:30 a.m. when the rear passenger side collided with a concrete barrier while negotiating a bend in the road. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at the crash site.
Initially, medics who arrived at the scene noticed injuries on Norfleet's body that raised concerns. They suspected he may have suffered from a gunshot wound to his head. However, further investigation revealed that these injuries were older and unrelated to the crash.
The autopsy conducted on Norfleet confirmed that he did not sustain any gunshot wounds but instead suffered injuries consistent with those caused by a vehicle collision. Surveillance footage captured moments before the crash showed Norfleet's truck speeding down Murfreesboro Pike before colliding with a guardrail on East Thompson Lane.
Neighbors expressed their sadness and concern about this tragic incident. DJ Fretz remarked, "It's very sad when you don't know all of the circumstances; you always wonder if it was just random or targeted... You just don't know, and that's probably the scariest part."
The Metro Nashville Police Department's fatal crash team has taken charge of the investigation into this incident.
