55-year-old driver of the Volkswagen taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is in critical condition
A man is in critical condition after a crash that occurred on Sunday morning at the intersection of 91st Street and Nebraska Parkway, according to the Lincoln Police Department. The accident happened around 8:15 a.m. when a semi-truck driver was heading south on 91st Street and attempted to make a left turn onto Nebraska Parkway. Unfortunately, he collided with a Volkswagen Beetle that was driving north on 91st Street.
The driver of the Volkswagen, who is reported to be 55 years old, sustained serious injuries from the collision and has been taken to the hospital where he remains in critical condition. No citations have been given by LPD as they continue their investigation into what caused this tragic accident.
Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to have played any role in this incident. LPD has advised drivers to avoid the area while officers investigate further and clear up any debris from the scene.
