One Killed and Four Injured in Manhattan Car Crash

One person died and four others were injured.

On Sunday evening, a car crash in the Gramercy Park neighborhood of Manhattan resulted in one death and four injuries. According to authorities, the accident occurred at East 21st Street and Third Avenue around 7:30 p.m. The car was reportedly speeding north on Third Avenue when it crashed into a LinkNYC kiosk on the sidewalk.

A 23-year-old male pedestrian was killed as a result of the crash. A 26-year-old female pedestrian was hospitalized in critical condition, while a 21-year-old male pedestrian and an 18-year-old e-bike rider were both hospitalized but listed as stable. Additionally, a passenger in the car - identified as a 25-year-old woman - suffered from leg injuries.

Police arrested Mahbub Ali of Queens for his alleged involvement in causing the accident. He has been charged with manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, and assault.

Despite several serious injuries resulting from this tragic event, one migrant woman miraculously walked away unscathed from her position standing on another side of the kiosk during impact.
