Three drivers sent to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Police in Marlboro, New Jersey are investigating a three-car crash that occurred on Route 9 on Saturday afternoon. The accident resulted in the temporary closure of the road for two hours and sent three drivers to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Capt. Bryan O'Hare, Support Services Section commander, the accident occurred just north of the Marlboro and Manalapan border. One of the vehicles involved in the crash overturned, and all three vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Officer Brian Peterson is leading the investigation, which is ongoing. O'Hare stated that summonses may be issued as a result of the incident.
In nearby Manalapan, police advised motorists that Route 9 northbound was closed at the Gordon's Corner overpass due to the accident, causing heavy delays on Saturday.
The Marlboro Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau is urging anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
