Residents of Fairfield, Connecticut are in shock following the tragic death of Meghan Raveis. The 45-year-old was killed on Friday after being hit by a car while walking along Redding Road.

Mombello went on to describe how she received a call from her husband - who also has close ties to the Raveis family - informing them of what had happened. "It's so senseless," she said. "It happens in an instant... I mean it's heartbreaking."

Raveis belonged to the family that owns William Raveis Real Estate and was managing director of their charitable fund. She leaves behind three children.
