Miami-Dade Police Officer Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash

A Miami-Dade Police officer sustained injuries after her car was struck by another vehicle while she was responding to a multi-vehicle crash on the Palmetto Expressway on Monday morning, according to officials. The initial crash occurred in the southbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway near Northwest 36th Street at around 6 a.m.
Long lines of vehicles could be seen stretching far down the southbound lanes, indicating significant congestion caused by the accident. One car appeared severely damaged and facing traffic near an express lane, while other vehicles showed signs of major impact.
Miami-Dade Police authorities stated that one of their officers had been assisting Florida Highway Patrol with managing traffic following the crash. In an effort to block off traffic, she had strategically positioned her vehicle when another vehicle unexpectedly crashed into it. The injured officer was promptly transported to a local hospital and is currently reported to be in stable condition.
