Michael Betzinger Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash Outside Porterville

Both parties were transported by ground ambulance to Sierra View Medical Center in Porterville. The driver of the Ford succumbed to his injuries at Sierra View Medical Center.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal accident occurred outside of Porterville on Friday afternoon. The crash involved two vehicles and resulted in the death of one man. At around 3:57 p.m., CHP received calls about a collision at Avenue 184 and Road 208. The preliminary investigation indicates that a 41-year-old male was driving his gray Ford F150 pickup westbound on Avenue 184 when he failed to stop for a posted stop sign at Road 208. At the same time, Michael Betzinger, aged 65 from Visalia, was driving his white Ram pickup northbound on Road 208 between speeds of 55-60 mph when he collided with the Ford. Both parties were transported by ground ambulance to Sierra View Medical Center in Porterville where unfortunately, the driver of the Ford succumbed to his injuries. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played any role in this incident as it remains under investigation according to CHP officials.
