Keene, NH - A Milford man was injured in an accident on Saturday when the commercial vehicle he was driving experienced serious mechanical issues, according to state police.
Firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical services from Keene swiftly responded to Route 12 near the transfer station after receiving reports of a single-vehicle accident involving a utility bucket truck. The incident occurred around noon.
The vehicle involved was identified as a 1996 International utility bucket truck owned by BGWN Services based in Milford, New Hampshire. It was traveling south on Route 12 when it suddenly encountered a severe mechanical malfunction. As a result, the truck rolled over multiple times before finally coming to rest on its side.
The operator of the vehicle has been identified as Wade Methe, a 23-year-old resident of Milford. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was promptly transported from the scene for medical treatment.
Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Due to extensive damage caused by the accident, authorities have placed the utility bucket truck out of service. An "out-of-service" order is issued when either a commercial driver or their vehicle violates specific conditions that pose imminent safety hazards to protect public welfare. Amber Legace, Public Information Officer for New Hampshire State Police explained this protocol.
Assisting state police with managing this incident were members of both Keene Police and Fire Departments along with personnel from New Hampshire Department of Transportation and Department of Environmental Services.
At present time it remains unclear whether any charges or violations will be filed against either Mr. Methe or BGWN Services regarding this unfortunate incident.
