Two Milford Men Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Ellendale

Both occupants were ejected as the truck overturned. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver died at a nearby hospital.
According to Delaware State Police, two men from Milford were killed in a single-vehicle crash near Ellendale on Saturday night. The incident occurred at 10:43 p.m. when the driver of a Ford Ranger lost control of the vehicle while traveling at high speed in the left lane of South Dupont Boulevard, south of Fleatown Road.
The truck drove off the left side of the road and hit a highway sign in the grassy median that divides north-south traffic flow. Although the driver was able to get back onto the road, he oversteered causing it to reenter the median and overturn several times before coming to rest in North Dupont Highway's left lane.
Both occupants were ejected as neither man was wearing seat belts properly. The passenger died at the scene while emergency services transported the driver to a nearby hospital where he later passed away. Their identities are being withheld until their families have been notified.
North and South Dupont Boulevard remained closed for more than two hours between Hudson Pond Road and Milton Ellendale Highway while authorities investigated and cleared up after this tragic accident.
The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this incident further.
