24-year-old Milwaukee man dies in police chase and crash

Driver of pickup truck died
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office was called out to the scene of a crash near 43rd and Oklahoma in Milwaukee on Tuesday, June 13. According to police reports, a 24-year-old man died after leading West Allis officers on a chase that ended in a fatal crash.
The incident began when officers were conducting an OWI investigation near 57th and Lincoln around 12:45 am. An unrelated pickup truck sped past them down Lincoln, prompting an officer to catch up and attempt a traffic stop. However, the driver fled from the officer.
The pickup truck turned south onto 43rd Street and continued to flee at high speed until it ran through a red light at 43rd and Oklahoma where it collided with another vehicle headed east on Oklahoma. The impact caused the pickup truck to lose control before hitting an unoccupied parked car then crashing into a tree.
Sadly, the driver of the pickup truck did not survive while no other people or officers were injured due to this accident. Police are still investigating this case as debris remains scattered along sidewalks even after several days since its occurrence.
