Worker's death confirmed
A miner has died in a tragic accident at a surface mining site in Missouri. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when the truck the worker was driving overturned, according to officials with the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). "The haul truck the worker was operating backed through a berm on top of a stockpile, overturned and landed on its roof," said an MSHA spokesperson.
The victim's employer, Riverstone Group, confirmed their death but did not release their identity. MSHA is investigating the incident as a powered haulage accident.
Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.
