16-Year-Old Boy Killed in Single Vehicle Crash in Jordan

One fatality and three non-life-threatening injuries
A tragic car crash in Jordan, Minnesota claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy on Thursday night. The Scott County Sheriff's Office reported that they received a call about a single-vehicle accident in Sand Creek Township at around 8:45 p.m.
According to the crash report, a Jeep driven by a 17-year-old boy was navigating through a sharp curve on a gravel road when he lost control of the vehicle. The Jeep then collided with an anchor cable attached to a power pole and flipped over.
One passenger, identified as a 16-year-old boy from Jordan, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver and two other passengers - both aged 16 and from Jordan - sustained non-life-threatening injuries but were wearing their seatbelts.
Authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs played any role in this deadly incident. However, they are investigating further before turning their findings over to Scott County Attorney’s Office for review of charges against anyone involved in causing this fatal accident.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the victim and determine his cause of death soon.
