Morgantown Police Officer Zane A. Breakiron Killed in Vehicle Accident

Officer Breakiron was killed in the accident.
The Morgantown Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its own. On Sunday morning, it was announced that Patrol Officer First Class and K-9 handler Zane A. Breakiron had been killed in a vehicle accident.
According to a release from the department, the accident occurred on Friday evening or Saturday morning while Breakiron was off duty. The crash is currently under investigation by the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department.
Officer Breakiron had served with the Morgantown Police Department for nearly seven years and was highly decorated. In a statement released by Chief Eric Powell, he said: “This loss has impacted every member of our department. We express our sincere sorrow and condolences to Zane’s family and loved ones.”
