Motor Vehicle-Pedestrian Accident in New Hartford: Jacob Grudowski Injured

Jacob Grudowski is currently in critical condition.
The New Hartford Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in an ongoing investigation into a motor vehicle-pedestrian accident that took place on Commercial Drive. According to authorities, officers were dispatched to Avenue Plaza on Commercial Drive at approximately 7:45 PM in response to the incident.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the pedestrian involved in the accident was identified as 22-year-old Jacob Grudowski from Colton, New York. Eyewitnesses reported that Grudowski had climbed onto the hood of a moving Jeep Wrangler driven by 25-year-old Christopher Barror from Rome.
Barror promptly stopped his vehicle upon realizing Grudowski was on his hood. Unfortunately, during this sudden stop, Grudowski fell off and struck his head on the pavement. Members of the New Hartford Fire Department provided immediate medical attention at the scene before transporting him to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for treatment of a head injury.
Grudowski is currently listed in critical condition as he continues receiving medical care at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
The New Hartford Police Department has launched an investigation into this incident and urges anyone who witnessed it or possesses any relevant information to come forward and contact them immediately at 315-724-7111.
