Motorcycle Crash in North Myrtle Beach Results in Fatality of Jason Marcum

A tragic motorcycle crash in North Myrtle Beach has claimed the life of a 45-year-old man. The incident occurred late Wednesday evening at the intersection of Little River Neck Road and Oyster Lane.
The victim has been identified as Jason Marcum, a resident of the nearby Little River area.
Eyewitness accounts and an ongoing investigation reveal that a Ford F-150 driver was backing a trailer into his yard when Marcum's motorcycle collided with the driver's side of the truck. First responders from the North Myrtle Beach Fire Department were quick to arrive at the scene and provided immediate aid to Marcum before transporting him to a hospital. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Authorities have determined that Marcum was traveling at an excessive speed given prevailing conditions, making him responsible for causing the collision.
