Motorcycle Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer Leaves 64-year-old Salisbury Man Seriously Injured

A serious crash involving a tractor-trailer and a motorcycle took place on Thursday morning in Rowley, Massachusetts. The incident occurred at the intersection of Route 1 south and Route 133, causing significant delays in the area.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) reported the crash shortly after 7 a.m., stating that only the left turning lane was open to traffic. MassDOT spokesperson Jacquelyn Goddard provided an update just before 8 a.m., confirming that there were serious injuries resulting from the collision.
According to Rowley police, the crash happened at approximately 5:51 a.m. Initial investigations suggest that both vehicles were traveling south on Route 1 when the tractor-trailer attempted to make a left turn onto Route 133. This maneuver led to a collision with the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist involved in the accident is identified as a 64-year-old man from Salisbury. Due to his injuries, he was airlifted by medical helicopter to a hospital in Boston for further treatment. Fortunately, no injuries were reported for the tractor-trailer driver, who is identified as a 25-year-old resident of Rowley.
Police cleared the scene around 8:30 a.m., allowing traffic flow to return to normalcy. However, authorities are still investigating this incident and gathering more information about its cause.
