According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, a motorcycle-pickup truck accident in the Town of Windsor has left two individuals hospitalized with serious injuries. The incident occurred on August 31 and involved Cody Beavers, a 26-year-old resident of Windsor, who was operating his motorcycle at a high speed on Atwell Road.

Investigations conducted by the Sheriff's Office revealed that Beavers failed to keep right while navigating a curve, resulting in a collision with an oncoming pickup truck. Both Beavers and his passenger, Megan Monteforte, aged 23 from Hallstead, PA, were ejected from the motorcycle upon impact. Despite wearing helmets at the time of the accident, they sustained severe injuries.

In response to their condition, both individuals were airlifted via Life Net to UHS Wilson Medical Hospital for immediate medical attention. It was later discovered during investigations that Beavers had been driving an unregistered and uninsured motorcycle without possessing a valid license. Consequently, he received multiple uniform traffic tickets as part of legal proceedings.

The gravity of this situation prompted several emergency response teams to intervene promptly. Alongside the Broome County Sheriff's Office personnel present at the scene were members from various departments including Windsor Fire Department, West Windsor Fire Department, Eastern Broome EMS (Emergency Medical Services), Barnes-Kasson Hospital EMS (Emergency Medical Services), Superior Ambulance and Broome Ambulance.

As authorities continue their investigation into this unfortunate incident involving a speeding motorcyclist colliding with an opposing pickup truck in Windsor town limits; it serves as another reminder for all motorists to prioritize road safety measures such as adhering to speed limits and ensuring proper vehicle registration and insurance coverage before hitting the roadways.
