22-year-old man dies in collision with pickup truck in Warwick

The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead.
A tragic accident occurred in Warwick, Rhode Island on Thursday morning resulting in the death of a 22-year-old man. According to reports from police, the victim was riding his motorcycle when it collided with a pickup truck at around 7:30 am on West Shore Road.
The initial investigation suggests that the driver of the truck was turning left onto Winifred Avenue when the motorcycle hit its front passenger side. The impact caused the rider to be thrown off his bike and onto the ground. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
It has been noted by authorities that at the time of collision, he wasn't wearing any protective gear such as helmet which could have saved him from severe head injury or even death.
The identity of this young man is being withheld until family members are notified about their loss.
Fortunately, no one else involved in this incident sustained any injuries including driver of pickup truck who belonged to Warwick Public Schools. Police have confirmed that neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors contributing towards this fatal crash and an investigation is still ongoing.
