Janesville man killed in head-on collision with SUV

The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment.
A tragic accident occurred in Janesville, Wisconsin early Thursday morning resulting in the death of a motorcycle rider. The Rock Co. Sheriff’s Office reported that an SUV crossed the centerline of a highway and collided head-on with the Harley-Davidson being ridden by the victim. Emergency crews attempted to save his life but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the 2017 Kia SUV was arrested following the wreck and booked on counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, OWI, among other allegations. The 47-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
The incident took place around 4:30 am when the SUV heading east on W. Hwy. 11 went into oncoming traffic near N. Pahl Road and collided with the motorcycle rider whose name has not been released yet.
The driver of SUV suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment while authorities closed down Highway for several hours before it reopened around 8:30 am.
