Motorcycle and Truck Collide in Colorado Springs

One person taken to the hospital with serious life-threatening injuries
On Thursday, Oct. 5, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a motorcycle vs. truck crash at the intersection of East Woodmen and Marksheffel Roads in Colorado Springs.
The CSPD's Major Crash Team was called to the scene to conduct an investigation into the incident. As a result of their presence, traffic on E. Woodmen Rd. and Black Forest Road had to be diverted temporarily.
According to CSPD, preliminary findings from the investigation indicate that both vehicles involved were traveling east on E. Woodmen Rd. At some point, the truck came to a stop due to traffic conditions when suddenly it was rear-ended by the motorcycle.
Tragically, one person sustained serious life-threatening injuries as a result of this collision and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
In regards to potential contributing factors leading up to this accident, CSPD has stated that neither speed nor alcohol are believed to have played a role based on their initial assessment.
As investigations continue into this unfortunate incident involving a motorcycle and truck collision in Colorado Springs, authorities will work diligently towards uncovering all relevant details surrounding what transpired during this tragic event.
