Motorcyclist Daniel Richer in Critical Condition After Middletown Accident

Motorcyclist transported to Middlesex Hospital and then to Hartford Hospital via Lifestar for head injury. Operator of second vehicle not injured.

Part of Hartford Ave. in Middletown was closed due to a serious motorcycle vs. car accident that took place at around 5:49 p.m. The road was closed from Route 9 and Main Street as police responded to the incident.

The motorcyclist involved in the crash has been identified as Daniel Richer, aged 54, from Portland. He sustained head injuries and was transported to Middlesex Hospital's Emergency Department before being sent to Hartford Hospital via Lifestar for further treatment. According to reports, he is currently in critical condition and receiving treatment for his head trauma.

The driver of the second vehicle involved in the accident - a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee - did not sustain any injuries during the collision.
