Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Crash in South Bend

Motorcyclist taken to hospital for treatment
The St. Joseph County Fatal Accident and Crash Team (FACT) is currently investigating a crash that occurred on Thursday afternoon in South Bend, leaving a motorcyclist critically injured.
According to officials, the incident took place at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Ironwood Drive, just north of Edison Road. A passenger vehicle driven by a 21-year-old individual from Illinois and a motorcycle operated by a 35-year-old man from South Bend were both traveling southbound on Ironwood when the collision occurred.
Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene and transported the motorcyclist to the hospital for urgent medical attention. At this time, there is no update available regarding his current condition. Fortunately, the driver of the passenger vehicle did not sustain any injuries and is fully cooperating with authorities during their investigation.
In order to conduct a thorough examination of the crash site, Ironwood Drive was temporarily closed off by law enforcement personnel.
