Motorcyclist Joseph Smetanka Jr. Dies in Crash with Semi-Truck in Amwell Township

A fatal motorcycle accident occurred in Amwell Township, Pennsylvania on Saturday night. According to the Washington County Office of the Coroner, Joseph Smetanka Jr., 60, was driving his motorcycle on Route 40 when he collided with a tractor trailer that was turning left into the westbound lane near 10 Anderson Drive.
The crash took place at approximately 9:39 p.m. and Smetanka was pronounced dead about an hour later. Unfortunately, he wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Pennsylvania State Police are currently investigating this incident further.
