Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Tractor Trailer

Motorcyclist died, tractor trailer driver uninjured
The Dorchester County Coroner's Office has identified the motorcyclist who tragically lost his life in a collision with a tractor trailer on Friday night. The victim has been identified as 71-year-old William Morgan from Adams Run, according to Coroner Paul Brouthers.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:12 p.m. on US Hwy 17A near Waddle Lane, which is about seven miles south of Ridgeville, South Carolina. Lance Cpl. Lena Butler provided details of the accident stating that Morgan was riding a 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle and attempting to make a left turn onto US Hwy 17A from a private drive when he collided with the northbound tractor trailer.
Tragically, Morgan was the sole occupant of the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. On the other hand, fortunately, the driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured as they were also alone in their vehicle.
Investigations into this fatal collision are ongoing as authorities work diligently to determine all factors contributing to this tragic event.
