Motorcyclist in serious condition, car occupants with minor injuries
A motorcyclist from Licking, Missouri, was airlifted to a hospital in Columbia after being involved in a serious head-on crash on Saturday night. The incident occurred on Highway 137, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., the 41-year-old man was traveling northbound on his motorcycle when a Mazda car heading south veered off the right side of the road. The driver then overcorrected and crossed the center line, resulting in a direct collision with the motorcyclist.
Inside the Mazda were four individuals from Raymondville, Missouri - a 61-year-old woman and three children aged 12, 11, and 10. Fortunately, all occupants of the car sustained only minor injuries and were subsequently transported to Texas County Hospital for treatment.
The crash report revealed that the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of impact. This serves as an important reminder about prioritizing safety while operating motorcycles or any other vehicles on public roads.
