One adult dead, one hospitalized, nine minors injured
First Responders Attend to Multi-Casualty Crash in Sacramento
Sacramento Fire Department has reported that first responders are attending to a multi-casualty crash that occurred on San Juan Road, near Northgate Boulevard at around 8:16 p.m. The incident involved a single vehicle and resulted in the injury of eleven people, including nine minors aged between three and eight years old. Tragically, one adult lost their life while another was taken to hospital.
Sgt. Zach Eaton from the Sacramento police department stated that almost everyone involved is in critical or serious condition due to the severity of the crash. "I understand that everybody has many questions about what happened here tonight. We have those same questions," he said.
The initial call received by police indicated that the car had crashed into a tree; however, this information could change as investigations continue. Police have not yet confirmed how many individuals were inside the vehicle when it crashed.
San Juan Road between Binghamton Drive and Bridgeford Drive remains closed for further investigation.
