Multiple Accidents Involving Semi-Trucks Cause Delays on I-75 in Ocala

One person seriously injured, driver taken to hospital, no injuries reported in third crash
Whether traveling north or south on Interstate 75 in Ocala on Tuesday morning, commuters experienced significant delays due to multiple accidents involving semi-trucks.
At approximately 8:35 a.m., a collision occurred between a semi-truck and a pick-up truck on I-75 Southbound just past the 354 exit. According to Ocala Fire Rescue crews, the semi-truck jackknifed while the pickup truck flipped onto its roof. As a result of this incident, emergency crews temporarily diverted traffic off the interstate at the exit. However, some lanes headed southbound have since been reopened.
Tragically, one person was ejected during the crash and subsequently transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Responding to reports of an accident on Highway 27's overpass along I-75 Southbound, Ocala Fire Rescue crews discovered a jackknifed semi-truck and an overturned pickup truck.
Just two miles south of this location at around 6:15 a.m., another accident involving a northbound semi-truck took place when it collided with guardrails. Crews had to block lanes as they cleared debris and cleaned up an oil spill resulting from this incident. Fortunately, all lanes have now been reopened for regular traffic flow. The driver involved in this crash was also taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
