31-year-old Acworth man seriously injured in Marietta car accident

According to the Marietta Police, two car accidents happened minutes apart from each other on Sunday morning. The first accident occurred just before 10 a.m. on Interstate 75 south near South Marietta Parkway and involved a single vehicle. A 31-year-old Acworth man was driving his 2003 Acura RSX when he lost control of the car causing it to rotate across three lanes before hitting a cement wall. The Acura flipped multiple times before coming to rest upside down, leaving the driver seriously injured.
The second accident took place shortly before 10 a.m., involving four cars at South Marietta Parkway and I-75. One of the vehicles overturned during the crash, and several people sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
Police have not yet determined what caused either accident but are asking anyone with information about them to call investigators at (770)794-5357.
"While large in nature, non-life-threatening accidents like this happen more than the public would realize," said police in a news release.
Both incidents caused significant traffic delays as authorities worked to clear up debris from both crashes.
