Multiple Fatalities in Crash on Elkhorn Boulevard

A tragic crash on Elkhorn Boulevard in California has resulted in multiple fatalities, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The incident took place on the 5100 block of Elkhorn Boulevard, approximately eight miles east of the Sacramento International Airport.
According to CHP, a young female driver, believed to be in her late teens or early twenties, was traveling eastbound on Elkhorn Boulevard when she encountered stopped traffic. In an attempt to avoid colliding with the vehicles ahead, she veered off the roadway and struck two pedestrians who were walking nearby. Tragically, both adult pedestrians—a man and a woman—were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver responsible for this devastating accident has been taken into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). Authorities are currently investigating whether alcohol or drugs played a role in this tragedy.
