Multiple Injuries in Beatrice Crash

A one-vehicle crash in Beatrice, southeast Nebraska, on Wednesday evening resulted in multiple injuries. The incident occurred off South 19th Street and sent five individuals to hospitals with varying degrees of injuries.

According to Beatrice Police Sergeant Brian Carver, the accident involved a Chrysler Sedan traveling south on a gravel section of South 19th, approximately half a mile south of the Beatrice YMCA.

Emergency response teams swiftly arrived at the scene at around 5:20 p.m., including ambulance units from Beatrice Fire and Rescue along with several police officers. The five occupants of the vehicle suffered severe injuries; some were inside while others were found outside after crawling out on their own.

Two individuals were transported by ground ambulance to Bryan West Health Center in Lincoln, while three others were taken to Beatrice Community Hospital. Initially, authorities had requested a medical helicopter but later canceled it due to its lengthy 45-minute journey from Omaha.

The crash site was located about a quarter-mile south of a recreational trail crossing where South 19th transitions into a gravel road. After veering off the east side of the road and colliding with a power pole—causing significant damage—the car eventually came to rest near the edge of a cornfield.

Police are currently investigating various factors that may have contributed to this unfortunate incident. As for now, there is no immediate information regarding the identities or conditions of those involved in the crash.
