Multiple Vehicle Collision on Missouri River Bridge in Rocheport

At least five vehicles, including a loaded cattle trailer, were involved in a collision on the Missouri River Bridge in Rocheport, Missouri this afternoon. The accident has caused both westbound lanes and one eastbound lane of I-70 to close down on the Rocheport bridge. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, it is estimated that these lanes will remain closed for at least two hours before reopening.

As an alternate route, roadway officials are encouraging drivers to travel on 40 highway and through Boonville instead. The Missouri State Highway Patrol posted images of the incident provided by the Boone County Fire Department on Twitter. In one photo, workers can be seen trying to wrangle cattle away from the accident while another shows one trailer with its front passenger side dangling off the bridge. Additionally, there are two semis pictured side-by-side with one's tail end smashed.

Currently, wrecker crews are working diligently to remove all vehicles involved in this crash from the scene as quickly as possible. Drivers should expect delays if traveling through this area until further notice.
