Nine Injured in Crash in Lawrence, Indiana

Nine people, including four children and a Lawrence police officer, were injured in a crash that occurred on Thursday morning in Lawrence, Indiana. The incident took place at the intersection of Pendleton Pike and Sunnyside Road.
According to a spokesperson from the Lawrence Police Department, the crash happened shortly before 9 a.m. Preliminary investigations suggest that a silver car traveling eastbound on Pendleton Pike was attempting an unauthorized U-turn when it collided with a maroon minivan carrying the children.
Among those injured, one adult is currently in critical condition while the rest are expected to have non-life-threatening injuries. The Lawrence Fire Department dispatched eight ambulances to transport the victims to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The Lawrence Police Department confirmed that one of their officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries from glass fragments at the scene. Additionally, all four hospitalized children are between 3 and 9 years old.
As authorities continue their investigation into the crash, they have advised residents to anticipate road closures and delays in the area for several hours during cleanup operations.
