41-year-old man dies after crashing dirt bike into pick-up truck

A tragic accident in Queens claimed the life of a 41-year-old man who was riding a dirt bike. According to authorities, the incident occurred on Hollis Ave. in Hollis at around 8:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
The victim was reportedly traveling at an unsafe speed and without a headlight when he attempted to avoid a car making a left turn onto 201st St. In his attempt to maneuver away from the vehicle, he veered to the right and lost control of his green Kawasaki KX250X dirt bike.
Tragically, the rider collided with the back of a parked red Ford F-350 pick-up truck. The impact caused him to be thrown from his bike, resulting in massive head and body injuries. It is worth noting that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Emergency medical services rushed to the scene and transported him to Queens Hospital for immediate treatment. Despite their efforts, they were unable to save his life. At this time, authorities have not released his name pending notification of next-of-kin.
This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of how crucial it is for individuals operating motorcycles or dirt bikes to prioritize safety measures such as wearing helmets and adhering to speed limits.
