Oklahoma woman dies in two-car collision in Chula Vista

Passenger in Chevrolet was pronounced dead on the scene
A woman from Oklahoma died in a car accident on the Interstate 805 through Chula Vista, California Highway Patrol reported. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. on May 27 when a Chevrolet SUV driven by a 38-year-old woman veered and crashed with a Toyota pickup truck in the right lane north of Telegraph Canyon Road. Both vehicles overturned as a result of the crash, and one passenger was ejected from the Chevrolet.
The victim was identified as a 42-year-old resident from Chickasha, OK who was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. The driver of the Toyota, described as an 18-year-old woman, did not suffer any injuries during the incident.
CHP closed down four lanes of I-805 southbound after Saturday night's collision while they investigated its cause and sequence of events. It is still unknown if driving under influence played any role in this tragedy.
